ALPHABET is one of few Greek translation companies founded and managed by graduates of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation & Interpreting of the Ionian University.

Martha Voyatzi
Managing Partner
Co-founder of ALPHABET, Martha Voyatzi has been working for the company since its first day, in January 1996. Martha possesses extensive experience as a translator for a wide range of texts as well as a conference interpreter for the Greek and international market, having completed over 2200 working days. She is a member of the Association of Conference Interpreters of Greece (SYDISE) and the Panhellenic Union of Graduate Professional Translators of the Ionian University (PEEMPIP). Her duties at ALPHABET include Human Resources Management. She has vast experience in transcreation, and her favourite fields include marketing, communication, technical, financial and economic content.
Yannis Papanikolaou
Managing Partner
Having an extensive track record in managerial positions in the field of translation and transcreation, Yannis Papanicolaou is among ALPHABET’s co-founders. He specialises in the fields of Multilingual and Intercultural Communication, Linguistics and Business Development. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Machine Translation (UMIST). At ALPHABET he is responsible for the company’s IT infrastructure, CAT tools and Procurement. He specializes in MTPE as well as in financial, technical and legal translation.
Tzannis Stavropoulos
Managing Partner
Tzannis Stavropoulos has been a managing partner of ALPHABET since 1996. He has specialized knowledge and extensive experience in translating a wide range of texts – such as technical, legal, commercial and financial. Moreover, since 1997 he has been active in interpreting, having collaborated with numerous private and public sector bodies, as well as with international organizations. At ALPHABET, he is responsible for the company’s financial management. His main area of expertise is insurance and bancassurance translation.
Victoria Karori
Translator/Project Manager
Victoria Karori graduated from the Translation Department of Metropolitan College. In 2001, her graduate year, she contacted ALPHABET via her school, and started working as a trainee. After graduating she joined the company as a full-time translator and is currently one of our most experienced and knowledgeable members. Her working languages are Greek, English, German and Italian and her areas of expertise include automotive industry, technology and marketing. She is also a highly efficient project manager.
Stella Hamakioti
Translator/Project Manager
Stella Hamakioti is a graduate of the Department of French Language and Literature, University of Athens, and has a postgraduate degree in Translation from DFLTI, Ionian University. She joined ALPHABET in 2003 and has since acquired considerable translation experience in various areas including marketing, corporate communication, life sciences, environment and sustainability, health & safety, cosmetics & dermocosmetics, fashion and home appliances. She is talented in transcreation, and loves monitoring new trends and studying new scientific fields.
Afroditi Chatzi
Translator/Project Manager
Afroditi Chatzi is a graduate of the Department of German Language and Literature, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and holder of DU/DESS en traduction from Université Marc Bloch (Strasbourg-II). She has been employed in ALPHABET since 2005, and has over 20 years of experience in various translation agencies in Thessaloniki and Athens. She has long experience in translation, review and proof-reading of technical and technological documents of all kinds. At ALPHABET she has had to opportunity to efficiently carry out marketing and communication projects and gain extensive project management experience.
